Forest Glade Tournament June 16-June 18
Friday night, despite heavy rain that threatened to cancel the game, TC Rookie Selects went on to play their first tournament game. The first game of the tournament was against a strong Belle River team. Both teams demonstrated a strong defensive game keeping it a low scoring game. Belle River held onto a small lead for the first few innings until TC rallied in the later innings, squeaking out a 6-3 win.
Outfielders Bodi Bissonnette, Prestan Zakoor, and Jack Krause did a great job of getting the balls quickly into the infield to keep the runners in check and runs off the board. In the 4th inning Marcus Brown, playing second base, made the rare triple play after catching a hard line drive off a BR bat, tagging his base and throwing it to the first baseman, Preston Gwilt, to complete the play. Great game by all players to secure their first tournament win. Way to go boys! Next game to be played Saturday June 17th, 5pm, against South Canadians.
