PeeWee Selects, 2017, Selects (Turtle Club Baseball and Softball)

Another championship for the Peewee Select Team at the Amherstburg Peewee Select Tournament On Aug. 18th - 20th.
The boys started round robin with 1 win and 2 losses to squeak into the quarter finals on Sunday morning. We started Sunday by facing Tecumseh downing them after a decent battle. Mid day had us facing who else but Forest Glade. The boys had a commanding lead only to watch it shrink. The boys held their own and eliminated them in 7 innings. For the final we faced a very disciplined Riverside team. The boys were focused and wanting a win, had the bats rolling and feet moving. A great group of boys and i couldn't be prouder of the hard work they put in.

Congratulations to our Peewee Select Team for an outstanding weekend of baseball. Our team came to play and did just that by going undefeated. With 2 shutout games and incredible pitching from Ben Vigneux,Jonathan Couch,Max Racine and Tatem Combres this group along with great defense allowed only 10 runs in 5 games. To back this up, out of the park grand slams were delivered by Ben Vigneux and Johnathan Couch. In our final game against our biggest rivals from Forest Glade, the boys found themselves down 2 nothing after the first inning. Determined not to let that small lead get in the way the of a perfect weekend the boys got the bats fired up never to look back taking the game 11-5.

After battling a tough Belle River team and walking away with a loss the Peewee Select team came back the next morning and mercied Tecumseh 10-0. Later that day they kept rolling by beating a strong Ancaster team 8-0. The next morning we met Ancaster again only to run into a defensive wall... finally losing 9-7. In the afternoon we met Forest Glade for the bronze medal and mercied them 14-2. I,m very proud of how these boys kept going and finding a way to end on a positive note just in time for our upcoming London tournament.

Congratulations to the Peewee Select team for winning the AM 800 team of the week. The boys were recognized for the effort put forth in running a successful car wash.They also learned a little hard work pays off and they can be proud of themselves because they earned enough money to completely pay for an upcoming tournament in London.

They also won gift cards both for themselves and the team to Canadian Tire.

The Peewee Select Team is holding a car wash fundraiser at Reaume Chevrolet Buick GMC on Front Rd Saturday June 3rd from 12:30 to 3:30. Please come out and support our team as they work toward raising funds to cover the costs of the tournaments they have been entered in.
