The coaching staff would like to congratulate and recognize the Mosquito Major T1 boys on another excellent tournament finish. The kids battled extreme temperatures throughout the weekend, finishing as the #1 seed by going 3-0 in pool play with victories vs. Royal York, Tillsonburg and Kitchener. Sunday consisted of a quarter-final victory vs. Royal York, and a semi-final victory vs. Simcoe. This set up a rematch with a well-coached, and very talented Tillsonburg squad. The Titans ran out of steam, and finished on the wrong end of the score. The kids should be proud that they battled until the final out! The coaches, parents, and players would all like to recognize the host town of Simcoe and their volunteers, for an incredibly well-run tournament!

Congratulations to the boys on their tournament victory in Harrow. After going 3-0 during pool play versus Kingsville, Corunna and Caledonia; rain washed out play on Sunday. The final was resumed 2 weeks later between #1 seeds Lasalle and Leamington. The boys came out hot right from the start and never looked back, earning the tournament championship over a very talented Leamington squad. The boys also displayed impressive individual efforts during the skills competition with 2nd and 3rd place finishes for speed; 1st, 2nd and 4th place in the throwing competition, and 3rd place in hitting. A special thank you to all of the volunteers in Harrow who continue to provide an excellent tournament experience, 25 years and running!

I would like to thank all of the kids for their efforts over the course of the tryouts. The decision on the final rosters was an extremely challenging one, and should not discount any of the credit due to the group of 31 kids who gave it their all. I hope that everyone continues to work hard to achieve their personal goals, and has a great baseball season during the summer of 2019.
