FAAST June Blast - Ypsilanti
The Rookie Minor Titans came up short in the gold medal game at
the FAAST June Blast in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
After 2 convincing wins on a hot and humid day 1, where they impressively handled teams from Howell and Waterford with a combined 31 RF and 1 RA, they earned a bye into the championship game. The HG Nuggets/Hawks from Howell, who played their way back to the finals, and were now at full strength with two of their best players on the field, came out hot against a flat-footed, and maybe over-confident, Titans squad. After 3 innings the Nuggets jumped to a 6 run lead. The Titans eventually came around and clawed their way back with rallies in the final two innings, but came up short with a one run 11-10 loss.
The coaching staff are very proud of the boys' overall effort that they put forth over the weekend. The outcome may not have been what they had hoped for but we can sense their greater desire and hunger to be winners and champions on the baseball diamond. As we approach the halfway point of the season, we see a solid team with plenty of potential for 8 year old greatness. Keep up the hard work, boys!
