Titans Reach the Semi Finals in St Thomas.... Again
For the second year in a row, the Titans reached the Semi finals in their opening tournament of the year at the St. Thomas Cardinals Tournament.
The Titans started strong on Friday night with a 9 to 2 win over Oshawa. T-ray threw the maximum pitches over 5 ininngs with Scuba Steve coming in for 2 innings to finish the game. Boey, AC, Vader, Pizza Man and Parrot each got a hit. Wild Thing had 3 base on balls.
That was just the beginning of 2 great days of ball for the Titans.
Saturday morning against North London, the Titans were down 2 to 0 in the bottom of the seventh. After scoring 1 run, Vader hit a single down the line to score 2 runs.
Parrot continued the strong pitching going the max pitches over 5 2/3 innings and allowing only 2 runs. Miller Time pitched a scoreless 1 1/3 innings to set up the walk off. AC and Rocket Man each had 2 hits with Miggy, T-Ray and Vader each contributing a hit.
Incredibly, in the final game Saturday, Vader did it again. With the Titans tied 6 to 6 going into the bottom of the 7th, Scuba Steve led off with a triple and Vader hit a single up the center to send the Titans to the semi finals on Sunday. Boey, AC and Miller held a good hitting team to 6 runs. Scuba Steve had 2 hits with T-Ray and Vader getting one hit each.
Sunday morning, the Titans ran into very hot Dorchester team and lost 14-2. Scuba Steve, T-Ray, Miller Time and Wild Thing all threw well against a very good hitting team. Pizza Man and Parrot each had 2 hits and Miggy had 1.
The Titans played well defensively all weekend with a number of great plays in the infield and outfield. The catchers were fantastic blocking pitches and throwing out runners.
Overall it was a great opening tournament with the Titans finishing tied for third out of 16 teams. The coaches and parents are proud of the boys but would appreciate a few more conventional wins and less walk offs as our hearts can only take so much!!!!!
Great job Titans and look forward to the rest of the season.
