LaSalle Athletics Cougars vs Cubs Classic a Total Blast
The LA Squirt 03's played in their annual Cougars vs Cubs game this weekend.
It was apparent from the beginning that the Pink Cougars had been training hard in the off season and wanted to teach the Cubs a lesson again this year.
The Cougars started off strong with an early lead, but The Cubs were diligent and battled back, winning in the bottom of the 6th inning with a walk off home run by Kaitlin "Kit Kat" Lenhart.
The turning point happened in the top of the 6th when Lois "Sporty Spice" Batten attempted to run over the Cubs catcher Avery "Benny" Beneteau in a desperation play at the plate to attempt to get the lead run in. "Benny" held on for the out and the Cubs delivered in the bottom half of the last inning for the win.
The series is tied at a game a piece now with a much anticipated re-match planned for next year.
