15U Titans (2005) T1 Coaching Staff & Season Expectations
We are proud to announce the following staff for the 2020 baseball season, comprised entirely of non-parent coaches:

Head Coach: Kyle Bezaire

Kyle is entering his second season with the 2005 T1 Titans team. A current MHK student at the University of Windsor, Kyle’s research focuses on Leadership in youth sports. He has previously coached baseball, hockey, and soccer at the Peewee, Bantam, and Midget levels from A-AAA as well as high school. Most recently, Kyle served as assistant coach with the Villanova High School Boys Sr & Jr Hockey and Sr Boys Baseball teams, as well as with the 2005 Titans T1 team as an assistant coach. Kyle grew up playing baseball in Leamington and LaSalle. He is excited to take on this new role with the team and build on the successes of this past season.

Infield & Hitting Coach: Ryley Vernon

Ryley has been a standout baseball player for the Tecumseh Thunder organization since his 16U year. Previous to his time with the Thunder, Ryley played for the Windsor Stars and Riverside Royals. He has won multiple AAA OBA championships as a player, and most recently played for the Tecumseh Thunder 21U team. He is entering his sophomore year with the St. Clair College men’s team where he is the starting third baseman. Ryley also plays for the St Clair Green Giants team of the semi-professional Great Lakes Collegiate Summer League. He and Kyle are looking forward to returning to the 2005 Titans T1 team to continue the development of the young men they coached this past season.

Catching & First base Coach: Aidan McGuire-Banks

Aidan is a native of Tecumseh and has played for the Rangers and Thunder organizations as well as for the Tecumseh-Shoreline Eagles AA hockey team. Most recently Aidan also played with the 21U Thunder team in the CanAm league. Due to a history of concussions, Aidan is no longer able to play at a high level and has decided to stay involved with the game as a coach. We are very fortunate to have another young and eager baseball mind on the staff.

Assistant Coach: Bernie “Bear” Bezaire

Bernie is a retired former small business owner and is Kyle’s grandfather. He grew up in Harrow playing numerous sports for his school teams, including baseball. Bernie coached Kyle in Leamington and has over 20 years of baseball and softball coaching experience that he brings to the team. After a hiatus from coaching he is looking forward to returning to the diamond next season and passing along his knowledge to our team.

***We would also like to send a very special thank you to Coach Shane Seguin for his countless hours of dedication to this group over the years. He welcomed and mentored both Kyle and Ryley this past season. We are truly grateful for the opportunity you provided us and can’t thank you enough for all you taught us.***

Season Expectations

After the conclusion of tryouts, we intend to schedule 1 local fall exhibition game to give the boys a chance to get familiar with each other.  During the winter, coaches Vern and Banks have offered to host optional skills sessions through the end of 2019 at either Villanova or Central Park. We will start optional, once weekly team practices in the Villanova gym in the New Year. Once the diamonds are open (hopefully in late April), we will being our regular practice schedule. We expect to have 3-4 home diamond times per week (games & practices). We are currently exploring tournament options and intend to stay Canadian for all of them. We are looking at 3-4 tournaments, at least 1 of which will be local.

Our declaration for OBAs will be dependent upon the skill set of the team. We anticipate to declare AA.

Our intention for the 2020 season is to prepare each and every player with the physical and mental tools required to continue to advance to future years and higher levels of competitive baseball. We are confident that the staff has the necessary knowledge, attitude, commitment level, and passion to develop all of our players to the best of their abilities. Though we are likely to be the youngest staff, we are confident in our abilities to relate to our players, and teach them how to become better baseball players, athletes, and people.

We look forward to working with a great group of young men this coming season.

See you at tryouts!

Coach Kyle
