The Hornets brought their bats tonight and were able to get off to the quick start they have been looking for . The hot bats were able to generate some early runs, and from there, The Hornets were in control all the way.
The Hornets continue to put team play above all else, with all nine players chipping in at some point tonight. Brandon, Owen and Nolan all pitched well, and had the run support from their team mates to give some breathing room. Shout out to Owen, who only threw 21 pitches in his two innings. Way to go "O".
All nine players reached base at some point tonight, and Brandon, Owen, Matt, Ty and Nolan had multi hit games. Defensively, Xman made a great grab down the first base line, Max had a bullet throw to third, just missing the put out, and Gabe was strong in the infield all night.
The exciting game was capped off by a quick throw to second from Matt in CF after a solid hit by Grey, to Ty at 2nd then to Brandon behind the plate, which ended the game in a good old fashion rundown between Brandon and Jonathan for the third out in the fifth to end the game.
There easily could have been 9 players of the game in this one, but Brandon was given the nod as a result of his solid game.
