JDRF Fundraiser - Come Out for a Great Cause!
Submitted By Ian Mayer on Thursday, May 31, 2018
A message from a long-standing board member, coach, and former player...

Good Afternoon everyone…

As you may or may not already know our family has been heavily involved in fundraising for the juvenile diabetes research foundation (JDRF) for the past 5 years…ever since our middle son Jacob was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 3. Unfortunately, diabetes affects our family even deeper than that as I was diagnosed at age 12. Over 5 years of fundraising, through the generosity of family, friends and team mates we have raised $40,000!!!!  We are changing our focus this year from national fundraising efforts (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation-JDRF) to a more local approach by keeping all money raised in our community to help local families deal with Type 1 diabetes.

Our family will be set up in South Windsor on Saturday June 2nd, 2018 from 10am-3:30pm at 4089 Roseland Dr. West, enjoying hot dogs and lemonade with anyone who is willing to come and visit us. There is no set price for any item but donations are greatly appreciated with all funds raised going directly to our local Type 1 diabetes community. So, please consider stopping by in your weekend travels to enjoy some lunch or a snack with our family and help us get closer to a world without Type 1 diabetes.

If you are unable to come and spend some time with us but you would still like to support our cause, you are able to do it online by going to the gofundme page that was set up (address on the attached door hanger). I have attached a picture of the door hanger that we placed on the neighbourhood doors this week with all of the information.

We appreciate your consideration.
