TC ROOKIE SELECTS SHINE IN BAD WEATHER AT FG TOURNEY
The TC Rookie Selects didn't let the rain slow them down in the Forest Glade Select Summer Classic. With a 12 team field ranging from Whitby to Sault Ste. Marie, including three rep teams, the Selects made some spectacular plays to go 2-1 in their division with their only loss being to the eventual tournament champions, the Soo Black Sox, in a game way closer then the final score shows.
Unfortunately, due to the rain delayed playoff format cutting the playoff teams in half, they were squeezed out by fractions on runs/defensive inning.
Though they didn't come home with gold, the Selects did something far more important, making the transition from players on different house league teams to bonding as a Selects team and realized that they are a force to be reckoned with.
Big thanks to all the fans that braved the rain and supported the team through cheering, scoring, BBQing etc. You kept the boys going through the downpour.
The future is bright for the 2023 TC Rookie Selects and now they know it too.
