The road to Ancaster for the TC T-ball Select team included
a quick jaunt down the street to Veteran's Park for the Windsor South Canadians
Little League Friendship Tournament this past weekend. The team managed a
perfect 4-0 record in this tournament, capturing gold for the second time this
season. This weekend proved to be more of a battle of endurance and focus, as
these boys played their house league games prior to tourney play on both hot
and sunny days. The fatigue factor for these 6 and 7 year olds was very
evident in their last game on Saturday afternoon, as they just managed to edge
Windsor South in pool play.

Congratulations to the T-Ball Selects for winning gold at the Don Lynch Memorial Tournament hosted by Windsor Central at Optimist Park this past weekend.
In their first official games of the season, they went 3-0 in pool play Saturday with wins over Windsor South, Windsor Central, and Walker Homesites. Sunday semi-final action saw them earn a berth in the finals by defeating Windsor Central. In the finals, TC faced a rejuvenated Windsor South team. The game was tight until the bottom of the third inning, when the TC bats and base running let loose. They followed up in the top of the fourth with some stellar defense, by allowing only 3 runs. This included finishing off the game with 2 double plays, and an incredible leaping catch on the last batter by Jordan Maine at Shortstop. Special recognition goes to third baseman, Dermot Tomalty, who was awarded the finals MVP for playing great defense at third base, and belting a number of hits well into the outfield.
This was a great start and encouraging building block for our TC T-Ball Selects. Go Turtles!
