Squirt (11U), 2013, Athletics (Turtle Club Baseball and Softball)

The 11U squirt team this past weekend ( Aug 2nd - 4th ) achieved a goal set out earlier this year by qualifying "B" pool for their Grands in 2 weeks ( Aug 16th - 18th ). They did so by playing their hearts out under tough conditions. Monsoon like rains and extended days gave the girls yet another challenge to overcome.

An hour on the diamond is better than no diamond time at all.  It was the attitude that the team had to take this past Tuesday ( April 23rd ) as rains came in hard.  I hope that the conditions for our first outdoor practice this season isn't a predictor of the season to come. The girls have had one game postponed due to the rains and with another scheduled for this weekend, the hope is the diamonds will dry out and the temps will rise so that we can get a little experience under our belts.

A special "Thank You" has to go out to Jodi Ryan ( Jodi Ryan Photography ) for taking the time to join us at our practise and snapping photos of the girls. The photos look terrific and it's no doubt that if the fastpitch thing doesn't work out then I'm sure modelling could be in their future.
