HL ROOKIE BLACK - Tournament Champs
Windsor West held a machine ball tournament this weekend for houseleague rookie ball baseball teams. With our Team sponsor, The City Grill once again coming to the pump and sponsoring our team's entry fee, we entered the tournament.
After having our Friday night game rained out we played a triple-header Saturday dropping the first 2 games in heartbreaking losses and coming back from a 8-0 deficit to tie the 3rd game 8-8. This morning we played a mustwin game at 9am in order to advance and the kids showed up ready to play winning 21-10, putting 11 runs on the board in the final inning alone against one of the teams we lost to Saturday moving us into the semi's.
After a quick 30 minute break we were back on the diamond and the kids once again showed up to play putting the host team away 13-7 and moving us into the finals against Central. Again, after a 30 minute rest, the team took the field and play a focused and determined game battling back and forth against a strong Central team with the final score being 13-9. We WON!!!!
This houseleague team of 7-8 year olds played 6 games in 48 hours with 3 of them being consecutive back to back games and that's impressive for any group of young kids. They won with integrity and respect and they did TC proud!!!
