Athletics 06 Win GOLD at CanAm Tourney
Submitted By Jackson Cole on Wednesday, May 9, 2018
The LaSalle Athletics 06 Gold Squirt team played in the LaSalle CanAm tournament, hosted by the Athletics, on the weekend of April 27-29, at the Turtle Club Park.
In the 3  seeding games on Saturday, the girls went 3-0, beating the Birmingham Jaguars 11u, Whitby Eagles, and Chatham Eagles. We finished with a +20 in point differential, placing us in 1st place thru Saturday.

Sunday started with a thrilling back and forth, extra inning battle with a very strong Michigan Madness 10u team, with us being victorious with an 8-7 win. The girls came out hitting in the semi final against Brampton '06's, and we came away with a 14-1 win. In the finals, the Whitby Eagles came out hot, scoring 4 runs in the top of the first, but our LaSalle girls quickly answered back with 5 of our own in the bottom of the inning. The Athletics continued our hot hitting throughout the game scoring 11 more runs, while our defense was able to hold Whitby to just 2 more. The final was a 16-6  victory for the gold medal!
Great way to start the season!!
Coach Mike
