Rookie Selects Take Kingsville Tourney Championship
Rookie Selects Green come home with the Championship at Kingsville Select Wrap up Tournament over this past weekend.
Rookie Selects competed in the Kingsville Wrap up Tournament this past weekend.Facing their first triple header, our boys came up big with 3 wins on the first day taking on Essex, Woodslee and Kingville. All three games culminated in mercy after 5 innings. This earned us a 1st place bye.
On Sunday’s semi-final play, a Forest Glade team crumbled being no match for our bats as our Selects emerged victorious after 5 innings by a score of 17-7 to go on to the Championship Game.
The final game was a tough battle, perhaps the most challenging of the year. After 3 innings of play, with only a lead of 2-0... Tecumseh’s batting came alive as we quickly fell to a 5-3 after the 4th. With the pressure on the Green Machine revved up when they needed it the most with a couple more run next inning and then found themselves in a tie after the 5th at 6 runs a piece. Tecumseh would soon become deflated as a max run inning in the 6 th would finally get us back in the drivers seat and finish off the persistent Tecumseh Rangers by a final score of 12-8 in the top of the 7th.

Outstanding defense! Impressive hitting! Great Sportsmanship and class was met with every opponent.
This team is a special group of boys that just continue to feed off each other and cheer on, play on and celebrate on to victory.
MVP of the Tournament was awarded to Nikolas Zanutto for his consistent play making and outstanding leadership! Great Job Niko!
Niko could not have done it without the cohesive defensive play from our infielders...Emerson Zakoor, Jakob Zanutto, Anthony Derose, Anthony Luckino, Cole Blair and AJ Lewis and great outfield cover from Louis Diab, Lucas Fleming, Lucas Mass, and Matthew Tracey.
All of you made great plays to ensure a success!
