TC Rookie Selects Kingsville Tournament Finalists
Submitted By tcwebmaster on Thursday, September 5, 2019
The Turtle Club Rookie Selects team had their final tournament of the year this past weekend in Kingsville.  This was a 9-team tournament and was highly competitive.

The Rookie Selects team played fantastic on the Saturday finishing with a 3-0 record with big wins over Kingsville, Amherstburg and Riverside.  They displayed great hitting and fielding only allowing 13 runs total over the three games.  This gave them the number 1 seed overall and earned them a  bye heading into elimination play on the Sunday.

On Sunday, we were matched up with a very tough Leamington Selects team who had beat us earlier in the season.  After falling behind in the fourth inning 6-2 the boys rallied, scratched and clawed to even the game up at 6-6.  In the final three innings they tightened up the defense and allowed 0 runs and got an additional 4 runs to win the game 10-6 in seven innings.  What a come back!!!

In the finals, we matched up with Forest Glade for the fourth tournament in a row.  The game was back and forth in the beginning with the boys battling though injuries to keep it close.  A very well coached Forest Glade team pulled away the last few innings and earned the championship.

The boys had an absolutely amazing tournament and a terrific season finishing with two championships and two finalist trophies.  The coaching staff is so proud of you guys and look forward to coaching you in the future!

Way to go TC Rookie Selects!
