Bantam Major Titans Crowned Victoria Day Champions!
Over Victoria Day
weekend, the Bantam Major Titans were in Simcoe for a 12-team A & Under
tournament. The Titans began round-robin play late Friday evening with a
4-3 win over the Innisfill Cardinals. They followed up on Saturday with a
4-0 victory over the Guelph Royals and a 6-6 draw with the WOBA Bulls, placing
them in a statistical tie at the top of their pool. In the quarterfinals
on Sunday, the Titans defeated the Oakville A’s 18-3, followed by a semifinal
victory over the Ancaster Diamondbacks 6-3.
This set up a rematch with the only other undefeated team—the WOBA Bulls—in the finals. In windy and wet conditions, the Titans ran out to a 5-1 lead. After allowing WOBA to tie the game at 5 in the 4th inning, the Titans pushed ahead to win 8-5. They captured a trophy in their first tournament of the year with a 5-0-1 record.
