LASALLE ATHLETICS 2002s GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY
The LaSalle
Athletics 2002s are more than just a ball team. This is a group of young
athlete/leaders who are active in the community.
This team was selected in the fall and consists of many players new to the Athletics organization. Approximately half of these girls are new to the Turtle Club travel program, but immediately meshed very well with the returning "veteran" players.
In keeping with this team's guiding philosophy, this group understands that giving back to the community and enhancing their leadership skills is even more important than winning ball games.
In the short time that the team was formed, this group of girls has already participated in the Halloween Miracle League (in costumes no less!), bringing joy and cheer to inspiring ball players with disabilities, and also in the county Goodfellows Drive, raising much needed funds for 5 local food banks. These athletes are learning ball skills while becoming community leaders.
This team has already earned a couple of "wins" on the ball field called "life".
Well done players and families of the Athletics 2002s.
