Oktoberfest in Livonia
The LaSalle Athletics 2006 Gold team played in Livonia last weekend in their first tournament for the 2017/2018 season. The girls came out strong winning their first game 22-4 in 3 innings. After a quick lunch break, which was also utilized to carve our team pumpkin for the contest, we played a much stronger team. Our girls came out strong both offensively and defensively, shutting the 2nd team down with a 13-0 mercy in 3 innings.
We returned early Sunday morning to play the semi final game. Once again the other team was overpowered by LaSalle. Our hitting and defense shut them down with a 13-0 mercy in 2 1/2 innings, earning us a spot in the Championship game. Championship game was played out much like the others. In 4 innings the game was over with another 13-0 mercy. In 12 innings the LaSalle Athletics 2006 Gold team won 4 games, all by mercy, scoring a total of 61 runs and allowing only 4 runs against. A very impressive start to the season!
