LaSalle Athletics Launch
Submitted By dsoulliere on Wed 10 05, 11
TCLL's mandate is to bring a world class basbeball and softball program to our community. We are working hard to do just that and are thrilled to announce enhancements to both our baseball and softball programs!

TC is excited to announce that it will be fielding competitive teams in USSSA tournaments in order to provide our All Star players more games, and more games at a competitive level.

We will be fielding 8U, 10U(Minor), 12U(Major), 14U(Junior), 16U(Senior) and 18U(Big League) teams. These teams will compete under the name of LaSalle Athletics.  For the 8U, 10U and 12U teams you will need to be a registered participant in the TC Little League program in order to qualify. For the 14U and above teams registration will be open to all those who are interested in playing on those teams.

Our goal is to provide our TC players that are interested in a higher level, more competitive softball and the opportunity to continue their development and growth while staying in the TC family.  The LaSalle Athletics are excited to announce the launch of a new competitive fast pitch league for the community of LaSalle!

We will be fielding teams in the following divisions. The following teams will be restricted to players also registered in the Turtle Club Little League program only.
Please note that if the interest is there we will field more than one team in a division.

  • 8U – Manager – Barry Yetman – tryouts open to players born in 2003&2004
  • 10U – Manager – Tim Walach – tryouts open to players born in 2002 & 2001
  • 12U – Manager – Bill Mayville – tryouts open to players born in 1999 & 2000

The following teams will be open to all interested players.

  • 14U – Manager – Curtis Holland – tryouts open to players born in 1998 & 1997
  • 16U – Manager – TBD – Tryouts open to players born in 1996 & 1995
  • 18U – Manager - TBD – Tryouts open to players born in 1994 & 1993

Tryout: Sat October 22nd & 29th
10:00am at the Windsor Regional Hospital Gym

As we launch the LaSalle Athletics program to supplement our girls Little League softball program we are trying hard to anticipate some of the challenges of fielding these teams. We selected our Managers carefully. Unfortunately we are a volunteer organization and sometimes professional lives that put food on the tables of our volunteers or personal lives come into play and cause schedules to change and planned activities to not happen as swiftly as we would like.

With this 12U team the tryouts have gone longer than we anticipated and would have liked, however, we believe that we have the right Manager in place and that the team will be selected by the end of this month. Bill has secured indoor gym facilities to complete the tryouts and has a plan in place that we have reviewed and are comfortable with at this time. Selecting a team as quickly as possible is important to us but it is not something we are willing to do at the expense of rushing through it and making mistakes. So please bear with us through this period of growing and learning.

If you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to our Division Director, Frank Simke, at [email protected] Thank you.
