11U LaSalle Titans Green Team Simcoe Tournament Finalists
The LaSalle Titans Green Team competed in the Simcoe Giants
Mosquito “A” tournament over the July 22-24th weekend. The
Tournament consisted of 8 strong teams with lots of great baseball.
The Tournament started off with an evening game under the lights with a convincing win over the very strong Vaughan Vikings 9-5 to get the tournament started. A special shout out to the U14 Titans players and parents, who not only were finalist in their Port Dover tournament over the weekend, but came out in masses to support the U11’s and let Simcoe know that the Titans were in town!
Unfortunately the Titans were unable to carry the momentum into Saturday with back to back losses to the Guelph Royals and the Tillsonburg Otters.
Despite the rough Saturday, the Titans were ready to do battle on Sunday in the quarter finals vs the Waterdown Wolves. The bats came alive and the pitching was on point, as the Titans downed the Wolves 9-4 to advance to the semifinals. Next up in the semi’s, the Titans faced the Woodstock Wranglers, where the bats and the pitching continued to be firing on all cylinders as the Titans made quick work of the Wranglers 15-8. The Titans were now on to the finals where they faced the tournament host Simcoe Giants. It was a seesaw battle for most of the game but the exhausted Titans couldn’t hang on and fell to the Giants 13-7.
The heart and energy that these kids displayed through the whole tournament on and off the field was very impressive to say the least and the parents and coaching staff are very proud of these boys. Well done Titans!!!!
