Titans 9U Gold Team Defends Home Turf – Wins Green and Gold Classic!
The LaSalle Titans 9U were able to stay close to home this past weekend, competing in the Green and Gold Classic Tournament at the Turtle Club.
The bats were working early, leading the way to an undefeated record in pool play with wins against Ajax, Kingsville and Lakeshore. The Titans played a complete game against the Tecumseh Rangers in the semi-finals, winning 18-3 and setting up a match up against the Sarnia Brigade in the finals.
Despite hitting the ball hard up and down the line-up, the Titans trailed 6-3 going into the top of the seventh inning. The team supported each other, stayed positive, and started stringing together hits and running the bases hard. The Titans scored seven runs without making an out, taking a 10-6 lead into the bottom of the seventh. The boys continued a season long trend of great defence in elimination games, not allowing Sarnia to get back into the game and winning the Green and Gold Classic Championship 10-6.
