The LaSalle Titans 8U team competed in the London Talons
tournament this past weekend. We would like to thank the London Talons
Baseball Club for putting on such a great event.
After finishing 1st in our division we were headed to a
quarter final game against Dorchester. The Titans played a strong game on both
offense and defense and beat the Diamondbacks 15-1, moving to a tough semi
final game against the Cambridge Cubs.
The semi final game was very back and forth and ended 17-16
in favour of the Titans, setting us up for a final game against the very good
home town London Talons team.
The finals were very close, and the Titans found themselves down 6-5 going into the top of the seventh, when the boys dug deep after a long day in the sun and put up 7 runs to go up 12-6. The Titans went out defensively in the bottom of the 7th and got three quick ground ball outs to win their first ever tournament!
The boys played the best baseball they had played so far this season. The coaches are extremely proud of the boys, who learned a lot about adversity, determination and never giving up. The coaches would also like to thank the parents, who were extremely supportive, vocal, and picked the boys up when they were exhausted. The team couldn't have been successful without your support.
