May 13-14 - First Weekend
Green Machine,

Congrats on our first weekend!!!

Practice on Saturday went very well, and I want to thank every one who showed up early for the batting practice to find the cages weren't ready.... we made the best of it, and used the tee, did soft toss, and got some pitching practice in also. I realize this was a LONG practice, and I don't expect to do that every weekend... unless I have interest from the girls to do it. I'm willing to provide extra snack if that helps!!! The results will translate to the diamond.

We ended up with a tie on Sunday due to the agreed upon rules. We did complete 3 innings, but we didn't agree that the last inning was going to be the 3rd inning (due to time) prior to the start of that inning and therefore we agreed to go back to the 2nd inning for score (8-8).I wanted to emphasize how proud and impressed I was with;
 1. Our team getting 5 defensive outs during the game, including 3 outs in the 3rd inning and holding the other team to 3 runs!!!
2. I was very impressed with hearing the girls count out the "1, 2" before the pitches.
3. I wanted to thank Lucie for being our first catcher of the season, and Regan and Cameron for doing their part as catcher also. Cameron found a loop hole in my instruction about crouching behind the plate, but also made a great plat attempting to get a girl out at first on a dribbler just in front of the plate; that is a tough play!
4. Natalie and Lucie made an out at 2nd together and Regan a couple of outs at first I think.
5. Sienna hit a bomb to the outfield, and yet I feel she will be hitting it harder later in the season... if that's possible...
6. Morgan hit a line shot foul ball down the 3rd baseline!... I love to see that kind of contact, and bat speed on the pitching machine.

I think every girl at least made contact if not got a hit off the machine!! I'm very proud. We were short a few girls this weekend (Peyton, Gen, Andrea) for various reasons, and I hope that they will return next weekend.
