Chargers Rebound
After a tough loss to Navy Blue last week, The Chargers came roaring back against a determined City Grill Team. Despite the holiday, both teams had full benches. Shout out to Jacob G. who volunteered to play for one of the other teams on diamond 1, as the holiday had taken a toll on their bench. Thanks Jacob!
ODub started on the mound for The Chargers, making his first appearance on the hill this year. He did a great job to start the game. The City Grill was able to jump out to a 2-0 lead, but The Chargers got out of it with some solid defense and an inning ending double play, Nice work Chargers.
The bats came alive in the bottom of the first for The Chargers, and after one, we found ourselves up 4-2. Both teams continued to battle with solid pitching and timely hitting.
The Chargers were led at the dish by Phillipe, Chris, Jamie, Chris, Owen S and Ty, who hit a frozen rope to left centre. A special shout out goes to Conor, who was active at the plate by moving the runners every time he was up to the plate, including two rbi's.
The defense was led by Phillipe, Matt, Max and Jonathan, despite a late game surge by The City Grill. The pitching and catching was excellent again, with Jamie closing it out on the mound.
In the end, The Chargers came out on top 9-4, in a much closer game than the score indicates.
With the end of the regular season here, The Chargers look at hitting the playoffs running next week!!
