The LaSalle Novice/12U Girls win Gold at the 4th Annual Riverview Raiders Fastpitch Tournament
This past weekend, the LaSalle Athletic Novice/12U Girls played in the brutal heat, competing against 8 Michigan based fastball teams.

The girls were led by brilliant pitching, superb defense, and timely hitting on route to winning this event, even mercying their opponent 8-0 in the finals.

This is Gold medal performance is the result of very hard work put in by the girls, and the continued support and commitment to the program by our parents.

As a coach, I am proud of each and every girl for their grit and determination as they fought to winning a trophy as “big as our Bat Girl” in the already mentioned brutal weather conditions! However, more important than winning this tournament were the very kind words of acknowledgement received from the other Manager/Finalist of this event, the Finals Umpire (who did the majority of our games), and the Tournament Director; all individually spoke to me and advised that our girls are well mannered and disciplined young ladies who are superb athletes!

Also, please understand that the Manager whom we defeated in the Finals commented on how well positioned our girls and parents conduct themselves, and that he planned to use our group as the bar that he needs his girls, coaches, and parents to strive for. I believe you will all understand the situations in the game that he was referencing. I have never been more proud of a group for their conduct and elated when I heard this acknowledgement from a fellow head coach. Be proud of yourselves team.

In summation, we should all be very pleased that we were successful this past weekend, but even more proud that collectively we have positively influenced another team by our good conduct and positive spirit in competition. I have said it before, and I will continue to say it; it is my privilege to be associated with such a fine group of girls and parents.

Thank you all.
