The Lasalle Titans Minor Mosquito - Green Team lose a tightly fought battle to the Chatham Diamonds - 22 to 12
On a dreary, rainy day in Chatham, the Titans put on a valiant show
against a big hitting team from Chatham.
With a slow start in the 1st and 2nd innings, the Titans finally got their bats going in the 3rd with singles from Jay, Andrew G. and Josh and then a long fly ball to left field by Jack for a triple, driving in 2 runs. In total, they scored 5 runs in the 3rd.
The Titans added one more in the 5th, 3 in the 6th and another 3 in the 7th.
Andrew G, was called up to play for the Titans and in addition to his single in the 3rd, also hit a double in the 6th and a triple in the 7th.
The Chatham diamonds were relentless tallying runs in every inning and capitalising on a slippery ball that was both difficult to field and throw.
Jay came to play, having missed 3 games, hitting 3 for 4 and catching 2 long line drives to center field.
