The Titans started the game with a rough inning, giving up 6
runs in the top of the first. The rest
of the way, they were able to match the Hawks’ scoring, but were unable to
overcome the early deficit.
In the bottom of the first, the Titans replied with one run with some heads-up base running by Josh. Jack held the Hawks to a single run in the top of the second, and in the bottom the Titans were able to add four more to the board, making a game of it. Sullivan, Caleb and Nathan were all able to get on base with walks and eventually scored, while Andrew, called up from the Rookie team, contributed a single and later scored on an error.
Jack pitched a fantastic third inning, but unfortunately his pitching was matched in the bottom of the third. In the fourth inning, Walker Homesites were able to score 5 additional runs, and the game was put out of reach. Aiden allowed a single run in the fifth, and in the bottom of the inning, Jack smashed a single into the outfield, scoring two runs. The Titans ended the game with two strikeouts, but earned some respect on the field with their hard work.
