LaSalle Titans OBA "AA" CHAMPIONS!! Newmarket falls 14-2 at the hands of the Titans.Newmarket came out with a lot of energy and enthusiasm with a supportive crowd, but the Lasalle titans were able to push through a 14-2 win in six innings in Brantford.
The LaSalle Titans Rookie Major scored six runs in the sixth on an RBI single by Aedan Sullivan, an RBI single by Andrew Langlois, an RBI single by Owen Findlay, an RBI single by Brennan Valentini, an RBI single by Connor Smith, and an RBI single by Cody Moore.
Brandon Leblanc boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 4-4 day at the plate to pace the LaSalle Titans Rookie Major. He tripled in the first inning and singled in the second, fourth, and doubled in the sixth inning.
Newmarket came out with BIG bats blasting a gap shot in between the left and left center fielder but Aedan Sullivan came up with a big catch on the run to his glove side. Other big catches included outfield grabs from Kolton MacArthur and Andrew Langlois. In the infield we were on lockdown at all positions but some highlights included 3 huge line drive stabs from Nathan G. at the pitcher position, a slow dribbler ground ball going towards third picked up from Kolton MacArthur and shot over to first.
Lastly, Cody Moore had an incredible day as catcher. One play with a hit down on the plate which rolled 4 feet forward, Cody game out from the catcher position and without hesitation threw a perfect strike to beat the runner by a step. Then he made two catches on pop flies.
The LaSalle Titans Rookie Major easily handled Newmarket as eight hitters combined for 27 hits, 11 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
The lead stayed with the LaSalle Titans Rookie Major after the first, when they scored five runs on a two-run double by Cody and two singles.
The LaSalle Titans Rookie Major built upon their lead with three runs in the fourth. Brandon kicked things off with a single, scoring Lucas Chartrand and Nathan Gignac. That was followed up by Owen F's single, plating Brandon.
