The LaSalle Titans Rookie Major offense too much for Markham in 12-2 routThe LaSalle Titans Rookie Major refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against Markham, recording a 12-2 victory in a 5 inning mercy.
With 10 runs in the first three innings, the LaSalle Titans Rookie Major left no doubt about the eventual outcome.
An RBI single by Brennan Valentini and an RBI single by Connor Smith during the first inning and an RBI single by Nathan Gignac and an RBI single by Brandon Leblanc in the second inning supplied the early offense for the LaSalle Titans Rookie Major.
The Titans brought out their jets with the most aggressive base running of the year, consistently making single's - doubles and constantly forcing the opposing teams to throw. Lucas Chartrand started off one of the rallies going from first to third with a smart takeoff with two outs on a long fly ball. When the outfielder drops the ball, Lucas was almost on third. The ball coming into the cut-off man while Lucas was rounding third he took off to home. The ball made it in a step before Lucas got their but he wisely slid to the outside before the tag could be put on. You could feel the adrenaline start flowing after that play.
With some scouting from our parents we implemented on the fly the rover position, with Andrew Langlois adapting to the role we made 4 outs at second that would have been sure hits. Connor Smith came up with a couple "smittly like" plays deep in the hole at the SS position, coming up hard with bullets to first.
Brennan got a hit in each of his three at bats.
The LaSalle Titans Rookie Major jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first. The LaSalle Titans Rookie Major tacked on another six runs in the third. The inning got off to a hot start when Connor singled, scoring Owen Findlay. That was followed up by Cody Moore's single, bringing home Brennan.
The LaSalle Titans Rookie Major added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth. Brennan singled, scoring Owen F. to start the inning.
