This past Saturday, the Titans Peewee Major team travelled to Southgate Michigan and opened their season with a double header against the Great Lakes Wave 12U tournament team.
During game one, The LaSalle Titans saw solid efforts on the mound from Jack Baker, Jeremy Lebert and Aiden Carr, mowing down batter after batter. On the offensive side, the boys bats were alive and once on base they were unstoppable putting up 14 runs and beating the GLW in game one. After a 30 minute break, we changed our jersey's and took the field for game 2. Again with solid pitching on the mound from Ryan Cunningham, Brandon Pare, Josh Chalmers and Tommy O'Brien, we were forcing outs. The GLW being down one game already was determined to not go home 0-2 for the day and battled us hard the entire game. Unfortunately for us, the baseball gods gave them a break or two and it was just enough to edge the Titans out 7-5 for the split. All in all, the boys played very well for the first two games of the season and are excited about spending more time together on the field in 2017.
