Rookie Major Gold - Green and Gold Classic Champions
On a beautiful August weekend for baseball, the LaSalle Titans Rookie Major Gold team persevered to win the LaSalle Titans Gold/Green Classic. After going 2-1 in pool play and ending up in second place in their division, the boys did not disappoint on Championship Sunday...
The day began with a hard fought battle against a strong Riverside team. The Titans were down by six runs early in the game and remained positive, as they have all year when being down in games. The Titans clawed back when their bats came to life late in the game and they were able to win the semi-final game by a score of 9-6. In the championship final the boys were determined to pay back the very talented Oakville A’s team, who had handed the Titans their loss on Saturday. The Titans bats came to life in the Championship game with some clutch hitting, which was complimented by great timely defense. After six innings, the Titans were triumphant with a final score of 16-6.
The tournament competition was a great preparation for OBA weekend at the end of the month. Congratulations boys on a great showing!!!
