LASALLE TITANS PEEWEE MINOR GOLD LEAVE THEIR MARK IN COOPERSTOWN
From July 1-8, the PeeWee Minor Gold team travelled to Cooperstown, New York to participate in a tournament against teams from all over the U.S.  Hoping to win a couple of games against older, stronger teams was their goal, but they surpassed that goal and left a mark and made memories that will last a lifetime!!

The team opened the tournament with a 23-3 win over the Wilmette Travelers Blue from Illinois and continued on a hot streak beating the West Boynton Pro Ball Cobras from Florida 12-6.  The following day, the boys came up against the Sykesville Cyclones team from Maryland and hung on in a close battle winning 13-12.  That same day, they met up with the Michigan Nationals, a very strong team throwing pitches faster than they've seen all year.  The boys stood in there and battled taking the game 7-3.  On the third day of their regular schedule, the Hawks from North Carolina proved to be a stronger team, although the Titans tried to make a comeback late in the game dropping it 14-4.  The last team they faced was the Stallions Baseball Club from Ohio and the Titans were determined to come back after their loss earlier in the day and won 13-6.

The team had a nice break and was able to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown on Wednesday morning before their playoff games began.  The playoffs began with an exciting win against the Dartmouth Dream Team from Massachusetts with a score of 9-4.  The next battle was against a strong KATY Spartans Baseball team from Texas.  They held their own and were tied at 2 runs a piece after two innings, but the Spartans came out strong winning 8-2.  Nobody expected a small team from LaSalle, Ontario, Canada to fare so well, but we proved them wrong!!

Luc Ducs, Jonesy, Nate Dog, Andrew J, Little B (Brandon), 5-0 (Jeremy), Koko, Codester, Smitty, OSP, Sully and Big B (Brennan), your coaches cannot thank you enough for letting us be a part of this amazing experience.  We created memories that will last a lifetime!  Your parents are also incredibly proud of the fight they saw in you throughout the week.  Here's to carrying on a successful season!!

The team would like to send our deepest sympathies to the Presutti family.  Lou "Coach" Presutti, pictured with the boys, had a vision and although some told him he could never do it, he created an experience for players, coaches and their families that will carry on for years and years to come.  He cared about the players and their well being and told them to "Be Your Own Hero".  Unfortunately he passed away the day before the closing ceremonies, but the players and coaches were honoured to meet him, hear from him and spend some time talking and trading pins with him.  RIP Coach!!  Your amazing team will carry on your dream - thank you for leading such an amazing group who worked day and night to make sure everything was perfect for our team!!

Mr. Hall, thank you for looking down on us...we know we were not there alone and you helped to create an experience for us that we will always look back on as one of the best we've had!!  You live on in our hearts and we hope we carry on your legacy the way you would expect!!
